Dukla's pride & joy

Post by dukla2000 » Mon May 05, 2003 11:42 am

OK, managed to take some pictures that are nearly in focus and figured I should show it off. Does about 60 points a day for F@H, near as dammit silent, I am pretty happy but never completely.

Pics & my background ramblings are here.

is your hardrive suspended? It kinda looks like it just floating there. You can just barely makeout what looks like a rubberband. If it is a rubberband you should be careful because they become brittle and break especially when they are dryed out by heat.

Yup - suspended by rubber bands (secured to the top edge of the drive with 1 of those brackets to convert a 3.5" device to a 5.25" bay). And yeah I know they break and I really should raise the quality, but I have my cases open every few days because I enjoy playing (anyway), and my kids bought me a bag of bands for my birthday :)

(Naturally I blame the camera for the picture quality - actually was trying out my new mobile phone with built in camera.)

Pretty darn interesting read there Dukla, and seems like and intelligent approach! I copied many of your theories.

Good thinking - just because a case has 2 fan mounts at the back, doesn't mean you have to use them - just put in a big 120mm fan to handle the cooling!
