I recently made a rig in a CM Storm Sniper case. Super case. Spacious, elegant and above all, excellent for WM, thanks to the smart holes in the tray, the space next to the tray and to the huge space between the tray and the side panel where you can perfect arrange the cables to be hidden.

If you choose to leave them on then you have some bling bling.


Buttons, switches, plugs and jacks are located very conveniently at hand.

As i've already said, very spacious


...so, even the true beasts like Noctua NH-D14 don't seems to be anymore so frightening.


I agree that a very long AD_EXT ribbon cable would have helped me a lot but ... that's it... F@#$k Creative...


It would have been nice to have more black straps, but not ... I was almost pleased with some white, scattered


Even with a modular PSU, on the back are a bunch of cables but ...

Smart build - how is the new AMD chip?

Is the build quiet? AM guessing a noisy'ish due to the stock case fans and GPU cooler.

Wow, that's a great looking build... I'm seriously tempted to abandon my build and switch over to a similar case, although the cost of a new case is making me rethink that. I'm curious too, how's the sound on it? And as for sharp edges on fan openings: I had the same thing, and until I took my case apart to file down the nubs, I just put electrical tape on them. It doesn't look as nice, but it prevents cuts, won't interfere with the fan, and is easy to work with.

Still looking at this build. It looks great. But i was wondering why you still have that CM fan in use (the 120 at the back). Because those fans arent that quiet even at low voltages. You probably can turn that D14 so that the airflow goes up and let the 200mm do the exhausting.

Is pretty quiet when fans are controlled. This steel sheet is very thick and greatly reduce the vibration.

I would definately swap out the stock fans as soon as you can.
good advice here suggesting turning the CPU Heatsink to let natrual convection take place (heat rises)

one question whats that uh ribbon type cable doing in your build, i mean you have so many "New" parts the IDE just doesnt belong, i thought the floppy died, please tell me its not for a HDD..

Don't worry..it's not. It links his Creative Labs sound card to the front I/O ports you can see in the first few pictures.

Apparently creative doesn't offer a longer, non-ribbon version of the cable?

it's more than 40 pins unless I'm mistaken. There are a few lying around here where I work, but I've never really looked at them too closely, I just know when you have the external box, it's a DB44 cable to connect them.

Yes... is Creative indeed... A realy pain in the ass...
No matter if they were ribbon or not but if they were longer could be folded and more easy to hide.
