Here is my brand new HTPC with some old, but mostly new components.
And one feature I have not seen before with Silverstone LC17 - a fan controller!

I spent some time to hide the cables as good as possible.
The front panel cables like usb, sound, power, reset and leds are hidden under the motherboard. The same goes for the ATX12V 8pin.
The 4 pin power cable to the dvd player and fan controller are hidden between the front panel and the front fans.

Components:
Silverstone SST-LC17B
Amd Opteron 165 @ 2.5 GHz
Asrock 939Dual-SATA2
Gainward GeForce GT240 1024MB GDDR5 Golden Sample
Corsair CX400W PSU
4 * 1GB PC3200 DDR RAM
2 * Nexus Basic Series 92mm
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro
Seagate ST980825AS 2.5" HDD 80GB
Benq DVD DD DW1640
Scythe Kaze Q 3.5" Fan Controller
D-Link PCI DGE-528T Gigabit NIC
TerraTec SoundSystem Aureon 5.1 PCI (for optical out)

The pc is nice and it's quiet! I'm very happy with it.

EDIT, 4. jan 2011: New version and new pictures up later in the thread.

And if someone was wondering what the fan controller is for, from left to right controller and components in clockwise;
- both 92mm Nexus fans in parallel
- both 80mm Silverstone fans in parallel
- the 92mm fan on the Arctic Cooler

The 4th fan controller is not in use, but I will use it if I find the need to have a fan in the AV/Tv stand. The stand have a perforated metal plate in the back so hot air from the components can get out

Go Asrock 939Dual-SATA2! Mine is still rocking as well - it's actually going into a HTPC that I'm giving a friend of mine. By biggest mistake was not buying a dual core A64 for it when they were still available (and cheap). Oh well, the video card does all the work in a HTPC anyway...

The cae I have mine in is similar to yours - I ran the 20-pin ATX power cable under the notch between the PCIe slot and the chassis card slots. It's a close fit, bit it's not forced or anything. Though I don't think this would improve airflow in your case, and your sleeved 20-pin is clean.

Good looking HT setup all around. Did you DIY the perforated metal plate in your AV stand?

I bought the Mb a long time ago to use with a Athlon 64 3700+.
But a year ago I got the dual core Opteron 165 cheap. I had not use for it then, but with this Htpc it came to use.

Even if the Mb and Cpu are old components, the Opteron 165 @2.5GHz and 4GB ram performs very well with Win7 64 bits. It's no way slow!
Will probably replace the Hdd with a Ssd later.

The polished stainless steel perforated metal plate was bought custom made. Looks better than the photo shows.
The AV/Tv stand is a mix of DIY and stock.

Some weeks before Christmas I bought a new A/V receiver with Hdmi 1.4, a Pioneer VSX-2020 (similar to Elite VSX-33 in the Us).
So then I wanted the Htpc to be able to bitstream HD sound and decided for a Nvidia GT 430 as a new videocard / soundcard.

Bought a ZOTAC GeForce GT 430 ZONE, perfect for a Htpc, fanless with Hdmi 1.4, 3D etc.
This way I could also remove the Terratec soundcard used to get optical out. 1 less cable in the A/V rack.

To remove the optical drive in the LC 17 is a bit of hassle because of the double sided tape and the fan controller I added last time, but I decided to also replace the dvd drive with a Blu-ray drive.

After some new cutting and soldering for the power and a bit of swearing version 2 of my Htpc is done. As you can see in the pictures there is very little space between the Cpu fan and the cables to the Blu-ray drive..
The drive is almost not hear-able during use!

Will replace the HDD later for a SSD, just waiting for the new 2011 models..

Components removed:
Gainward GeForce GT240 1024MB GDDR5 Golden Sample
Benq DVD DD DW1640
TerraTec SoundSystem Aureon 5.1 PCI
IDE cable

In:
ZOTAC GeForce GT 430 ZONE
Lite-On iHOS104-37
SATA cable

Pictures in the next post.

really nice build there. If you had a modular psu, do you think you would have any trouble in putting 6 hdd in?

did you have to mod the fan controller at all?
