i7-2600s, GA-Z68XP-UD3 & Antec Sonata v1 (pics added!!)

Rig overhaul. Went from
-AMD Athlon X2 4850e (2.5GHz, 45w)
-Sycthe Ninja Plus Rev B + Coolermaster 120mm 1200rpm (~6v)
-Abit NF2-M2 nView, 4 x 1GB Kingston DDR2-667
-Sapphire 4670 Ultimate 512MB
-Antec Earthwatts EA430

To
-Intel i7-2600S (2.8GHz, 65w)
-Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B + Coolermaster 120mm 1200rpm (mobo-controlled with inline resistor)
-Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev 1.3, 4 x 4GB Samsung DDR3-1600 1.28v
-onboard Intel HD2000
-Seasonic X560 modular

Re-used parts:
-Dell U2311H
-Intel 320 40GB, Samsung HD103SJ, Western Digital Green WD20EARS
-Liteon IHES208 Bluray-DVDRW
-iCute D12SL-12 front & rear 120mm fans
-Generic 3 port fan controller reviewed by SPCR Link

Originally planned to re-use the Earthwatts EA430, but discovered a bulging capacitor, hence having to purchase the Seasonic replacement! Antec never learnt from their garbage cap issue with the earlier Truepowers.

The Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 has a single HDMI port, no DVI nor VGA. Strangely, the somewhat loose MOSFET/VRM heatsink only cools the chips on the left, but not those on the top. Cost-cutting??? Some old RAM sinks took care of that.

A PATA HP 1135R DVDRW failed to work with an Abit Serillel 2 (PATA->SATA) adaptor. Any ideas, or should I dump the PATA DVDR?

The iCute fans could be fake Yate Loons. RPM readout is ~1300 rpm, and they work great at 5-7v.

You might remember the Sonata v1 with its awful middle fan placement and trouble with air intake. Silverstone rear PCI brackets help with the ventilation. Very little room to hide cables, so I shoved them out of the way wherever possible. The Reset button is already spoilt, so you know the casing's really old!

Glory shot.
Image

Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B, with 3-pin Coolermaster 120mm 1200rpm. Mobo voltage controlled plus a generic inline resistor. This is an earlier shot taken without the blue heatsinks on the 2x Etron USB 3.0 controllers.
Image

Mobo's top mosfets were not cooled by default. A few small heatsinks fixed that. See the black heatsink below the fan connector. 4x low profile 1.28v Samsung rams in the shot too.
Image

Cables tucked away. Made in 2004!
Image

I think this's a fake Yate Loon D12SL-12. The fan frame's different. Works great at ~5-7v though.
Image

Fan controller, 2TB WD20EARS, 1TB HD103SJ
Image

Silverstone PCI brackets with vents. Helps immensely with cooling.
Image

Broken Reset button's taken out. The SSD's behind the 3.5" slots. You can see the red LEDs which I used to replace the default blue which were too bright!
Image

The interior of the casing's kinda dirty. The result of smoking

After dealing with unreliable image hosts, I've gotten a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and installed Apache on it. Hosting images at home now! Images updated.
