evercase 4252 users: how much clearance space is there?
How much space is there between the top of the motherboard to the psu, approximately? I'm trying to decide what motherboard to use in the case with a cnps7000a. Will any motherboards have a problem?

not much...
Hello:
There is just about 1/8" - 3/16" at most, so 3-4mm? My Asus A7N266-VM/AA's have the Socket A right up at the top edge, and the wire grill on the bottom of the Fortron Source 120mm touches the side of the Alpha HS...a Zalman 7000A would have to lose 1/3 of the fins and the fan blades...
I think I read (here at SPCR) that from the *center* of the socket to the top of the board would have to be 2"/50mm in order to fit the Zalman. The Alpha heatsinks are much more compact, so if you are unable to get a motherboard with sufficient room, you have alternatives.

Yeah, about 3/16" to 1/4". I happen to have my 4252 open on my workbench behind me so I snapped some pictures.

That's with an old school Abit KT7A motherboard. You can see the support ledge for the PSU and the location of the upper mobo support screws.

Hello:
What CPU are you using? It is quite possible that therer are a fair number of motherboards that *will* work...intx wrote:Unfortunately I already have a Zalman. The one thing I'm starting to regret with this Zalman, which I spent $50 + 15% tax (Canadian) on, is the size of this thing. Not very compatible with a lot of motherboards and cases

intx I have the case and I don't believe that any board listed on this page under "Power Supply must not interfere with the heatsink" will NOT fit. This this means most, if not all, NF2 boards will NOT fit.intx wrote:How much space is there between the top of the motherboard to the psu, approximately? I use an Abit KV7 (KT600) which has great BIOS options but no PCI/AGP lock. The other issue I found with the mobo case combination is that interference with the CNPS7000A prevents installation of a 38mm thick 120mm fan, like the Panaflo L1A, as an exhaust fan internally. The mobo and fan power connectors are also very tight due to the small mobo size. Other than that it's a great combination.

hey, would a 80mm fit?Fat Bunny wrote: I use an Abit KV7 (KT600) which has great BIOS options but no PCI/AGP lock. Shouldn't be any problem, anything less than 38mm thick or smaller than 120mm diameter should be fine. My exhaust fan is a 120mm diameter and 25 mm thick and still has clearance.intx wrote:hey, would a 80mm fit?
