I'm looking for a case that is suitable for quiet/silent setup. The hardware setup is as follows..

Mini-itx motherboard
Raid card ( I will be using a raid 5 configuration)
5 HDD (sata)

I want it to look something like Infrant's ReadyNas NV+.

The NAS will be located under the sofa in the living room (I have been evicted from the computer room by my new daughter) so it need to be as quiet as possible.

Suggestions?

maybe you should look at CD duplicator cases... will need some modding...

if you find anythign better let us know...but i've been looking at doing something like that for ages...

also if you're spending a fair amount on your raid card + 5* hotswap caddies

you might want to look at an all-in one enclosure like the Areca ones (as it will oflload any raid overhead to the controller - as cheap raid cards use the main processor to do the xor calcs...)

Yes, I'll tell you if I find anything. But as you say I probably need to build something myself.
