Reviewed by CustomPC mag (UK) this month.

The Savrow SR-71 Blackbird (the top of the line version) comes with gromit mounted fans (can lookup the make if you like) and the front plastic bezal has been pained with car paint so that it has a gloss finish.

Hello guys:

The carcass is the same as the 4252, and it has always fit a 120mm (x25) is front... the picture from the rear on the Evercase site would seem to confirm this. I'd be very surprised to have them go through the trouble of upgrading the rear to a 120mm -- but only then reducing the front fan grill size!

[Edit] it appears that I was wrong -- the NewEgg images now show that the front USB and audio wires obstruct things a bit:

...so it would take a bit of work to fit a 120mm in the front...

It's just been released and as far as I know it's only available in Japan right now. If anyone know where I can find one please PM me. I don't know the cost but it's a Coolermaster so it probably won't be cheap.

Now only if silentpcreview could get one and do a review on it, that would be super.

The revised Evercase 4252 has a 120mm grill in back (any thickness fits) and space for a 120x25mm in front -- you just need to drill the mounting holes in the front.

Might as well add my 2c to this thread. I bought a couple of Ahanix Black Knight cases (mentioned earlier in this thread)....New Egg under $60. I've been totally impressed by this case. The two Yate Loon 120mm fans that come with the case are the quietest 120mm fans I've ever heard. And the fan control system that also comes with the case is fantastic. At it's lowest setting it can start and run the fans at 2.8v......I have nothing that will read rpms that slow, but I estimate about 600 rpms. There is no case I know of at any price, that comes with two quality fans, and a unique fan controller like the Black Knight.

Modify the intake with a passive vent on the bottom of the case, add your own quiet PSU, de-couple the hard drives in your own manner and you have (IMHO), the best-looking, and the least expensive of the quality quiet cases on the market.

*Somebody* is selling Yate Loon fans other than Fortron?!

I bet they are very quiet.

My only nits with it are the lack of HD grommets, and the PS opening limits the choices -- the Fortron-type will have less air flow, and the CleverPower probably wouldn't even fit in w/o some cutting.

I'll check the link. I've written to Nexus, asking if the Breeze will come in a BTX configuration soon. I'd hate to spend that kind of money, when BTX is the next big thing. But, I love the case.

I can vouch for this case, I bought one after seeing the initial review here (and after having a FK-320 for a while and liking it). The quality is top notch as is the cooling/airflow. The grill over the rear 120mm fan isn't perfect and probably should be cut out, and the tool-free drive mounting (both 5.25 and 3.5" drives) leaves more than a little room for vibration. But the airflow - I'll repeat, this case is amazing for that. Just this week I noticed that if I left the side panel off, the drive temperature shot up to 51C. With it on, I measure 31C under similar conditions. That, folks, is a BIG difference. This is with a 120mm papst in the rear at about 6V and you can feel the flow is still pretty strong if you put your hand in front of the front bezel/grill. At 12v it felt like a vacuum cleaner was attached to the case.

If only they'd do a version of this case with sonata-style 3.5" drive mounting or simply some kind of removable cage so we could take it out and just suspend drives, it'd be practically perfect IMHO. It's expensive but worth it compared to anything else I've seen.

I have been slinking around the forums for awhile, but this is my first post. I bought the compucase LX-6A19 after seeing several positive things about it. It so far is a great case, but I am trying to find one in all black, the one that I got has the silver front fan bezel on it. Any recommendations?

Yes, you can get all black ones from Coolcases.com. He calls it the D8000.

ThermalTake has a new case called the VA3000 of the Dream Series. It has 120 front and back aswell as a 90 on the side. The only downside is that it has a window, which I hate. Other than that it look swell-- kinda like a CoolMaster WaveMaster or Cavalier. I haven't found a place to buy it, so I don't know what it costs.

I'm going to be purchasing a D8000 from Coolcases.com pretty soon, and I'm wondering if the LX-6A19 front I/O upgrade is now standard with these cases. Will I have to order the upgrade seperately? I've sent Jim 2 emails about this already, but my email system has been a little messed up and I wasn't able to recieve his replies. Thanks to anyone who can answer this question.

I love this wavy look, i really like the cooler master Cavalier 1, but thats just my opinion

This is also the case that Ed is pulling hair out over finding someone to properly retrofit a pair of Black Ice Pro radiators to. The stock fan mounting setup (same as D8000 etc.) is these plastic cages that utilize two proprietarily positioned sets of holes to attach, which do not line up with standard holes for 120mm fans! This makes my life more difficult for proper mounting of one of my Black Ice Pros to the inside front. Furthermore, the situation out back is even worse for me, but that's a different issue all together; I need to have the opening moved downward so as to make room beneath the power supply for the radiator's tanks and fittings. The location of the opening where it is now is too far up for me; and again, the stock holes are totally out of wack, thanks to that ludicrous cage they use on this and the cases from which this one is cloned.

Nor have I yet been able to find a case that can mount my two radiators the way I want to without equally extensive modifications, or someone to do these crazy modifications to the case for me without costing me an arm and a leg; it's incredibly frustrating, my situation!!!

That's a very small problem. All you need to do is drill a new set of holes centered up in the middle of the existing set. A 3/16" drill is the perfect size and it takes just a few seconds to drill each hole.

Here's a pic of on of my 3700AMB's with the holes drilled (although the new holes have been filled with EAR fan mounts, but you'll get the idea:

No problem for nice, light plastic fans.

Somewhat of a possible problem for heavier, aluminum Evercools.

Definitely a problem for radiator mounting; I'd never trust such a mounting to be rigid enough for such a heavy assembly as radiators+shroud+fan.

So, depending on your needs, it can be a non-issue, a nightmare, or anything in between.
