Is it possible to buy the Antec Sonata case without the default PSU? I'd definitely want a quiter power supply, either the Nexus 4000 or the SilenX, and would rather not waste money on a PSU I'd just toss out.

I dont think you can get any antec case without a power supply, unless chieftec or some other manufacturer make a clone case of it.

Sell it on ebay. I sold the True 380 for £40... bringing case cost to £50 which is damn reasonable!

Directron sells Sonatas w/o a PS. It's not much of a savings though, $99 vs. $87--not worth it in my opinion. They do also sell the slk3700ambs w/o a PS-- $69 vs. $49. The 3700 is a better deal, but I'm leaning towards the Sonata w/ PS.

I can't comment on shipping or service as I haven't dealt w/ Directron before.

Yeah, unless somebody puts out an even better case (which, really, to me means a Sonata + aluminum + real front 120mm fan + maybe front panel airflow improvements) by the time I'm ready to put together a new machine (shortly after 3.2GHz P4s are out), I'm just going to get the case with the PSU. And, if it's too loud, I'll just ebay it, along with some other stuff I'd like to get rid of.

Got my case from them. No damage. Reasonable shipping time. I did have to RMA some other parts (because I changed my mind, not because they were broken) and it took a bit of time (I think over a week past the receipt of the returned parts) for the credit to show up on my card, but I think that's normal for any non-newegg.com online store.
