Antec P193, heatsinks and headroom

Post by liknat » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:35 pm

I have been searching the net for a definite answer about the width of the P193 and how much actual headroom there is in the case for a heatsink or aftermarket graphics card cooling solutions. Some say 140 mm, others 160 or 165 mm.

So if someone here has this case could they clarify on the max width of the case from MB tray to the Big Boy fan and from the top of the MB to the fan. Also heatsink models that fit the case are appreciated.

Also it would be good to know about the silence charectaristics of the Big Boy fan and does the hole in the side panel contribute to more noise getting out of the case.

I read the newegg reviews of this case, and someone did squeeze a noctua nh-u12p in there, but the manufacturer says 140mm tops for the heatsink height. You can read all the comments and get more info.

Since my question relates to this topic, I'd like to know, if you can remove the Big Boy fan easily or is "Dremel-violence" necessary? :P

Edit: Nevermind, finally saw some pictures where I could see screws
