Hi,

Does anyone know where Viako cases can be purchased in the US? The link for their cases:

http://viako.en.ec21.com/Viako_Mini_Let ... 27902.html

Thanks!

No, I've never heard of them -- where did you hear of them, and do they have anything to recommend them as cases for quiet systems? The air grills don't look promising for low restriction flow; and generally aluminum is noisier than steel; all else being equal.

They look real nice. They look nice and tall with room for a cooler. Do you know what their dimensions are?

I discovered a company named Low Carbon PC (http://www.lowcarbonpc.com/). They make Windows PCs very similar to Mac Minis. I like the Mac mini because it is very quiet and looks nice. Since everything I do revolves around Windows I was hoping to build a PC similar to a Mac Mini. Viako makes the cases for Low Carbon PC (with some mods).

You could always use Bootcamp to install and run Windows on a Mac Mini?

Great looking cases, they may be an ODM/OEM company, looking at their PDF product brochure. More info: http://viakominipc.blogspot.com/

The Mini Letter Self is an interesting design that could be replicated elsewhere. It is modular, with corner posts that hold the panels, which allows flexibility in design, e.g. height, ports, vents.

The ML series looks as though it uses the same aluminium extrusion as the Wesena ITX-2 cases and maybe the Habey EMC-600 cases. I wonder whether Viako makes all of these?

See also this discussion.

With all that chunky aluminium, shame they haven't created a passive cooled heatpipe solution.

Be interested if these are available in UK :)
