Case with 8 external 5.25" bays?
I know this sounds a little odd for a SilentPC case request, but people here know more about available cases than in any other forum I know of :)
So, does anybody know of a full tower case (preferably not a double-wide RAID case) that has more than 6 (preferably 8) external 5.25" bays?
Hopefully with a bay door covering all bays?
Anyone?
cheers,
Halcyon

Silly me. After 15 seconds of posting this, I figured out the right search words for Google:
http://www.amazoninternational.com/html ... _tower.asp
11 external 5.25" bays (1 internal) with a front door. Phew!
The manufacturer is Pro Computers & Industrial Case Ltd:

I'm still soliciting information about other 8+ external 5.25" bay cases with a front door. So post them here if you know any. SilentPC features are a BIG plus.
regards,
Halcyon

Evercase do this monster http://www.evercase.co.uk/WebPages/ECS898.htm and their smaller cases seem pretty good for cooling.

It may be to wide for you, but
I have a case with 10 external 5.25" bays and a 3.5", plus 5 internal HDD bays. However it's a double wide. There are three doors on the front, one on the left covering 2 5.25s and the 3.5", and two on the left, a top door that covers 2 5.25's and a panel of status LED's, and a bottom door that covers the other 6 5.25's.
It is a double wide, but there is no installed RAID cabling, other than 15 cables to the status LED's (one per drive, but could always use them for something else...)
I prefer the double wide configuration as IMHO a single stack case with that many bays starts getting unstable, whereas this case comes with wheels, and is extremely stable since it's about as wide as it is tall.
I got it from Servercase.com, which had the best price on it I could find. It wasn't cheap ($195, plus S&H, and didn't include a PSU) but the case is definitely a very high quality unit.
