Streacom FC5 Evo CPU Cooling Performance

Post by Oubadah » Sat Aug 24, 2013 12:06 am

What's the long term cooling capacity of this case with a CPU under load. Judging by the following thread, a 65W TDP CPU is too much.

I wouldn't really be happy with using any CPU that couldn't complete 24 hours of Prime95 at acceptable temperatures in the case.

Can anyone else comment on this?

In the FC8 (I think FC5 has roughly the same cooling capacity) I find that the i5-3570K gets too hot, unless underclocked. The i3-3225 works fine.

But as with all passive cases I would advice against running it at full load 24/7 for long periods of time. Not ideal for the motherboard. I wouldn't worry about 24h of Prime95 though.
