Scythe Quiet Drive 2.5" with 7mm HDD?

I've got a 7200rpm Hitachi Z7K500 hdd, which makes somewhat irritating airborne noise. I was wondering - because the height of the HDD is 7mm, can it fit in a Scythe Quiet Drive 2.5", or the internal aluminium casing is made just for standard 9.5mm drives? If so, are there any enclosures for 7mm drives?

it'll fit, there'll just be a 2mm gap.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. Maybe I have to rephrase my question - will there be a problem for a 7mm HDD if placed inside a Scythe Quiet Drive 2.5"? Isn't that gap a problem? Probably the HDD will heat up more, as it will not touch one side of the aluminium housing and at the same time, the air in the gap is not gonna conduct the heat very well.

Inside the QD there are a couple of plastic pads which actually touch the HDD casing: I've a HTE725032A7E630 inside a QD, suspended inside a Solo, since feb 2012, and I have experienced no overheating issue since then.

it should be fine, there's minimal heat in the first place so contact with only the bottom and sides is plenty.

your drive should run cooler in the sqd compared to being bare.
