Coolermaster ATC-630

Post by rtype » Tue Sep 02, 2003 11:56 am

Can anyone tell me much about this case?

http://www.coolermaster.com/case/p630.htm

I see that it has 1 80mm fan in the side. I wonder if it has room to add more fans with a little cutting and I can't tell whether this case takes a regular PSU or not (the older, smaller Coolermasters in this line did not).

Any info appreciated.

Here's the page from Sundial Micro's (they have something to do with Coolermaster in the US, I think thay actually are Coolermaster in the US) website.

Going by this picture you might be able to squeeze another fan in behind the PSU but that looks like about it. Note that the PCI cards are the "low-profile" versions and the PSU is one of those small ones too. No regular ATX stuff for this case. It is only $129 though.

I have a 620, and I'd recommend getting that with a normal Super Tornado PSU with the 120mm fan (Mike just reviewed).

The 620's advantages over the model you are looking at:
* Aluminum front bezel, Steel construction (cheaper)
* It CAN take a normal PSU. And if you go with a Fortron 120mm (which I'm using) or the new Super (quiet) Tornado 120mm from Seasonic, it will be the ONLY fan in the case that you need... er besides a 5volted fan for your cpu depending on what you get :)
* And it looks just as cool as the 630... I use mine as an HTPC

It looks like all of them will only take micro ATX though, is that right? :(
