Tight.
Loose you only invite more vibration. If the pieces are tightly connected they will resonate as a whole. The bigger the chunk of metal you're got resonating as a whole the more of the vibration energy while be absorbed, and the resulting airborne vibration will be both a lessor intensity, and a lower frequency.

Tight for all the reasons above, plus when screws are loose they tend to vibrate looser and fall out...
It can be useful from a noise reduction / vibration isolation standpoint to put some thin weather stripping tape between panels or other items before screwing them together. The tape smashes down to almost nothing so it doesn't interfere much, but it seems to reduce the tendency for vibrations to transfer from one panel to another.
