Antec 120mm Sonata fan
Has anyone else tried connecting it up to a 12v power source to hear it at full speed. If you haven't, give it a go. Holy cow! These things are tractors.
Thanks.
How do people get their systems to run quiet? Should I put a 92mm L1A in place of the Antec 120mm unit?
I've been thinking about trying to run it with the 120mm fan disconnected for a while and watch the temperatures. Even if the L1A in my power supply ramps up to the top, it will still be more quiet than it is with the 120mm fan running.
hmmm... I've been waiting on 120mm L1A stock to replace my Antec 120mm fans. Perhaps I need to do a rethink. What is everyone else doing?

I don't have a Sonata, but I have 120mm fans. I attach them to the 3-pin motherboard headers, and let the auto-speed/temp sensor handle the speed adjusting automatically. It keeps them down at around 1200RPMs, but still keeps the case nice and cool. But you could also use a Zalman Fanmate, or some other speed control device, and adjust the speed manually.
