I had an 8800GTS G92 years ago, it was awful, a space heater, literally.

Price good through today:

Thanks, aris. That card is on its way as I type.

Newegg really hits you for the loss when it comes to rma fees. Gotta sort it out with them today via phone. Lovely.

Experience, not smarts, has taught me you either pay through the wallet or pay through the nose. I was just happy to return my 8800GTS video furnace at all. I can't imagine being stuck with it.

What shader clock are you running, and what did you use to set it if it's OC'd?

GTX260 - 1500. This time EVGA Precision Tools, but Riva Tuner should also work.

I set the fan to 60% full time and to resume at startup as well.

what are your core and mem clocks at? mine came factory overclocked even though it was supposed to be the standard edition. i assume you are running it in asynchronized mode, right?

Everything else is stock. OCing all parms is too much of a hassle and not worth it.

Only on 1 Intel PC, which happens to have the 260 yes, power-wise it was reasonable to run SMP on that PC, but the AMD X2s, no thanks.

What PPD are you getting? Temps?

about 6k, with temps in the mid-low 60s now on 60% fan. q6600 at stock with voltage reduction to 1.15, and 3 120mm scythe fans at circa 10 volts.

the gpu card is the loudest one in the box.
