I just picked up the PNY version of a 9800 GT with 1 GB memory for ~$92 and change (no rebate--yay!) on Wednesday evening. I'm planning on install next week as time allows. And today I picked up an AC S1 rev.2 for it.

Aris, I still might get that 9600 GSO and add an S1 to it.

PNY 9600 GSP officially an out of production card. That means you may be purchasing new ones on eBay, but without a UPC symbol and at somebody else's effortless profit.

PNY must be clearing out production of the older 9800GT cards. Their new sku's show up as 9800GT EE (I assume this designates energy efficient rather than extreme edition). The boxes advertise 30% more energy efficiency. Tried to return the one I bought for an EE model today. No dice.

Yes, a few others also, they manage to drop the additional 6 pin power connector to make the cards more green.

I don't like the downside/idea of drawing 65-70 watts off DC power through the motherboard traces. I know that's in spec, but still.
