Where to put -advmethods -forceasm?

I know of two places to put options such as -local, -advmethods, and -forceasm. I'm not clear on how to avoid maintaining these options in multiple places.
  1. The "Target" field of any shortcuts pointing to the F@H .exe file
    • Startup folder
    • Desktop
    • Quick Launch bar
    • Start menu
  2. In the "Use Extra Launch Commands" box of Electron Microscope
If EM is used, I assume Folding@Home should NOT be included in the Startup folder?

Can EM start F@H at times OTHER THAN startup? In other words, if I need to stop F@H for any reason and restart it, can EM do this or do I need to start F@H "manually"? In this case, I definitely need the options in whatever shortcut I use, right?

Is it possible to specify these options on the exe file, so that whatever starts it will pick up these options? Right clicking the .exe doesn't offer any place to put these options.

Correct. I have EM in my startup folder though.

Not AFAIK, but you can restart EM itself. e.g. I often kill EM, then CTL-C the resulting FAHConsole, then restart EM (from the Startup folder) when I want. Means the only place I really need the options is in EM.

dukla,

Now the "Restore F@H Window(s) on Shut-Down" option in EM makes sense. It's to make it easy to then shut F@H down.

Thanks for the tip.
