Woohoo, 1500 PPW!

Post by Zyzzyx » Thu Jan 01, 2004 10:25 pm

Looks like the celestial work units were aligned for me recently. Just capped off a 300+ point day, and reached 1500 ppw.

With my browsing of the 'folding farm blade systems' over at HardOCP, I really, really want to get something like that going. Gonna start saving up a bit out of each paycheck, but will probably still be 3-4 months before I could do anything.

I was at a local PC store today buying wire fan guards for a case I'm fixing when I noticed that they have a mATX mobo with an "AMD2000" CPU and (undoubtably LOUD) HSF on it for $99.

I was getting visions of blades when I noticed that it was an Amptron K7-810DLM2K which means that the "AMD2000" CPU is actually a Duron 1.3.

But now the blade bug is in my head. I'm looking for cheap mobos that can run faster than 266 FSB so that I could possibly overclock an XP1800...
