Speed monitoring on 120mm fans

Post by june » Sat May 12, 2007 6:19 pm

I would like to control and monitor the speed of 120mm fans using a fan controller like Hardcano 13 or Aerogate. Unfortunately, 120mm fans from Antec and Thermaltake are only using two wires. They can't provide the speed information, can't they?

Any recommendation of quiet 120 mm fans (UV/LEDs/Normal) that have a full 3-wire interface?

Greetings & welcome to SPCR,

There are several quiet 120mm that have three wires: the GlobalWin NCB, Yate Loon, and the Nexus, for starters. (There are no quiet Thermaltake fans, are there?)

Thanks for the recommendation.

I found these fans are quite difficult to find online. Any convenient online shops?

Antec has one 120mm fan with thermal control and speed sensor. I wonder how difficult it is to separate the thermal controller from overriding my fan controller.
