Newbee going silent

Post by ullebob » Thu Jul 12, 2007 12:21 pm

Hi,

Im just fresh here, reason for registering is that i build me a new computer aimed to be silent last week here is the stats and all comments and advice is welcome:

AMD 64x2 4400, 2G RAM, 2xWD Caviar 250GB
ASUS EN6800GT Silent
PSU Hiper type P 580 W 120mm + 80mm fans
Coolermaster centurion case
3xNoctua 120mm fans 8db/800rpm
Artic cooling 64 PRO
Dual boot Vista 64 and Ubuntu

Current placement i have 1 front fan and one side fan blowing in and rear fan + PSU blowing out.

I have not yet decided if i really need and whant the side fan, main reason for it is to blow air on the graphics card (that uses an extra PCI slot for air (in/out?)

The system is really cool CPU and system aimed at 40C from BIOS and keeps their even under load (3DMARK05 and calc PI)

I can hear (bearly) sound from the system but its very constant - main source of sound now is the HDD that is not shielded in any way.

Must say that i just love the noctua fan and the HIPER PSU.

Please comment or advice.
