Quiet gaming system?

Post by Eagle156 » Thu Jun 19, 2008 10:37 am

I have an E6600, overclocked 320mb 8800GTS, 1 WD2500KS hard drive, etc in a P182 case. I got rid of the 3 tricools and replaced them with 2 Scythe Slipstream 800s, one on the top rear and one as a middle intake on the top HDD cage. While it's relatively quiet, it's still not where I want it to be. The rear slipstream has an annoying ticknig sound and I'll probably need to replace it. Is there anything better than a slipstream for those on a budget? It barely moves any air even with the top fan hole unlocked and the case gets pretty warm. Maybe I should add a top exhaust?

I have stock heatsinks on everything; the 8800GTS isn't so bad - I left the fan speed on 54% in rivatuner and it's relatively quiet (for now) although it runs hot. The CPU is another matter as it gets loud and hot under load. I'm thinking an S1283, and would I need to get a replacement fan for that also?
