Hi Im going to build a computer with a sonata III case and included psu.
gigabyte MA770T-UD3P motherboard. The scythe mugen 2 as CPU cooler
the accelero s1 rev2 as passive gpu cooler (HD 4850)
and an extra 120mm fan op front (the scythe fan that won the test on this site, Scythe Slip Stream SY1225SL12M)

I will only have one hdd. I will use the phenom II 720BE processor

I was wondering how I will regulate the voltage to the fans, are these included in the packages? regulators that are attached to the wires to the fans (a variable resistor, which then also will generate heat) or can i control fan voltage some other way (software?)

I dont want an external fan controller

Sorry for this newbie question, can you help me clarifying this, and do you think this build will be relatively quiet..? (no overclocking)

Thanks in advance , Thomas

Your component choices are fine. Several points:

1) The Sonata comes with a fan that haas a 3-position switch. On low, it may be quiet enough for you.
2) Almost all motherboards feature some kind of fan controller, with varying degrees of control via the BIOS.
3) You can also use a windows-based utility like SpeedFan to control fan speed.

Obviously, some experimentation is in order. Have fun. ;)
