I want to boost my coming Fractal Design R2's default cooling with a couple of gentle typhoon 120mm's. Is the 1150rpm model more quiet than Antec P180b fan at low setting? Or should I get the 800rpm one?

gentle typhoons aren't great, imo -- way overrated by other sites. we haven't posted an official review yet... but I strongly recommend scythe's slipstreams over the gt.

So the Scythe Slip Stream 800 would be a good choice? What about the ticking, does this have that problem? The 19db in your review seems a bit high though...

pay attn to when/where the measurement was done -- before the anechoic chamber.

Ok so would you think placing a 800rpm Slip Stream in the front/back, and a 800rpm Gentle Typhoon at the top would be good? I heard the slip streams aren't good for horizontal placing.

My Gentle Typhoon 500 does exhibit ticking, but inaudible a few few away.

I have a pair of Gentle Typhoon 1850s on my Megahalems cpu cooler, and the performance improved at 5 volts over the previous S-FLEX F fans. Static pressure, would the Slipstreams do as well?
