CORRECT WAY TO INSTALL A CPU COOLER
Hi all
I am about to install a Arctic freezer 7 pro rev.2.
CPU cooler
SPECS ARE
6 gig ddr3 ram corsair xms 3
intel core 2quad CPU q9550 2.83 ghz
Gigabyte mb ga-ep45t-ds3r motherboard
Gigabyte Radeon HD 4850 1GB Passive cooler
All in a sidewinder case
My question is which is the best way to install this ?
The manual says towards the ram ,there web says towards the rear .
Judging by the pics online ,first slot of ram is an issue .
I have a rear fan sucking the heat out ,and to side fans sucking in .
And intend to install a front fan in the next week or so .
Have looked at a lot of pics online ,all saying there way is the best .
Even looked at a utube video saying towards the back .
What do you all recommend ?
Also what is the best thing to clean you cpu before installing my new cooler ?
Thanks and cheers to all !
From Tasmania

A bit late, but Welcome to SPCR !
I would install it blowing towards the back if you can (check clearance first). Then the heat is exhausted right away, instead of warning up your case.
To clean the CPU, use rubbing alcohol, 99%.
