Who is using using 32/64-bit versions of Windows?

I am interested in finding out how many of you using Athlon 64's are taking advantage of it's 64-bit architecture.

i got an A64 but the window trial version hasnt been updated for the longest time. Im starting to doubt if microsoft is even gonna realease a 64 bit os from now to longhorn

WinXP Pro 64 won't be released until next Spring or so, and to "take advantage' of the 64bits, you will have to also have 64bit apps... Someone could be using 64bit Linux, I guess. But again, I'm not sure about what apps are 64bit yet.
Keep in mind that it took about SEVEN YEARS from when the 386 came out (which was the first 32bit CPU) until we got Win98, which was the first (all?) 32bit OS...

Win98 was still a 16-bit OS with 32-bit extensions. Microsoft's first 32-bit OS was Windows NT.
It will be a while before a 64-bit Windows OS will give any benefits. There are the apps like you mentioned, and it might take a while for the drivers to mature.

I'm using XP x64 build 1218 - mainly because I didn't want to have to buy XP for my new PC, only to pay again for an upgrade to XP x64. I figured that if I couldn't live with the bugs, I'd just buy and install 32-bit XP, and wouldn't have lost anything.
I'm still waiting for a scanner driver, the printer driver can be a little flaky, I've had to buy an ADSL router because my USB ADSL modem didn't have drivers, a couple of games have refused to run, and several programs needed to be in the DEP exceptions before they'd work. The first x64 compatible on-access virus scanner was only released a fortnight ago, and Windows Update doesn't work, so the only way to update the OS (AFAIAA) is to download the latest build (I think they're on 1280, with 1288 coming soon) and reinstall with it.
Apart from that, it's been fine, and has saved me £80. If you want to find out more, I suggest you check out the forums at PlanetAMD64.

I'm using the 64-bit version for the same reason as Spod. It's worked great so far. All my drivers work so far (haven't tried the printer driver yet...) Saving $100+, you've got to make SOME sacrifices.
