Anyone know where or how to back-up game save data in Oblivion?

I don't have the game but it's probably in your profile somewhere, perhaps in 'local settings' or whatever.

Simply backup the savegame directory and recopy it after you reinstall the game.

Directory of savegames:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Saves

Directory of mods:
C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\Oblivion

Where "User" is the name of your profile in Windows.

NOTE: To see the second one, make sure that Windows is configured to show hidden files and folders. In Windows Explorer or in My Computer, open the "Tools" menu and select the "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folder" is checked.
