Windows XP Driver vs Motherboard Sata driver

Post by fabre » Tue Dec 05, 2006 10:24 pm

Would using XP default driver instead of the Sata driver supplied with the motherboard make any difference in term of performance?

Right now I am forced to use the Windows driver since the supplied driver freeze my system after a few minutes.

My guess is, it won't. Maybe, if you were using RAID...

I have had driver problems with motherboards using the same chipset :?

Either way the drives seem to perform OK, they certainly dont suck like the old VIA, SiS, Ali chipsets of the past when not using the correct driver.
