Vista coupons - Is there an expiration date on them?

Post by aristide1 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 1:57 pm

The question is posed for people who may have recently purachsed XP Pro SP2B and got a coupon for a free Vista upgrade. Is there a date or dealine associated with it?

Also - If you buy XP Pro this way what verison of Vista do you get for free?

Inquirious minds want to know.

Thanks
Aris

The deadline set by Microsoft for the redemption of coupons is March 15th - I think the precise details may differ from one retailer to another though.

The deals I've seen so far seem to be:

XP Home => Vista Home Basic
Media Center => Vista Home Premium
XP Professional => Vista Business

I know people were buying MCE with new systems specifically so that they could upgrade to Vista Home Premium, rather than the stripped-out Home Basic, which makes sense as OEM versions of MCE are (were) about the same price as XP Home.
