Router and Vista

Post by Stephen » Thu Mar 22, 2007 4:38 pm

I have a Netgear router, model RP614v2. It works fine. However, the Netgear website says it has been discontinued, and is not supported in Vista. If I don't want to change it's settings, can I still use it after I switch from XP to Vista?

It's a router (crappy one, as mine kept freezing), but it is a router, it doesn't need drivers. All you need is web interface (internet explorer) to access it and configure it. You'll be fine.

If it is a router/modem in one, and it is plugged into your pc via usb, then you may have problems.

If it it plugged in via ethernet, then you have no problems at all.
