Hi, I just fell in love with the Yamaha BB Series the other day.
Now I have decided to get one and learn how to play the bass.

I found this picture and I almost got a heart attack !

Type: Yamaha BB 3000
Color: Lava Red
Hardware: Gold

That's exactly what I want !!

Whom is that picture from I wonder ?

The only bass guitar looking similar would be this one in Red Metallic:

It's the Yamaha BB 424 (479.- Euro = $ 588.- = £ 409.-).

I have asked my retailer whether it would be possible to exchange the chrome hardware for golden.
He is currently trying to find out the costs, if possible at all, and will get back to me in a few days.

That would be as close as I could get to my dream bass, but to be honest, I expect the price at the end to be far, far too high.

So, best alternative would be for me to just accept the chrome mechanics on the BB 424.

Another retailer in our area has the actual BB 3000 BM (Black Metallic) .. for only 1.099.- Euro = $ 1.350.- = £ 939.-
If you follow the link and scroll down the page, you can watch a nice little demo of that bass, just ignore the language.

Actually I would have bought this bass immediately, if it was only in Lava Red color (but I also wish the back of the neck was smooth like the BB 424).

Here you can watch a videoclip about that particular neck.

Hi, I made my mind up and ordered the Yamaha BB 424 RM the other day.
On Saturday, 5th June 2010 it arrived and my first impression was Wow ! ... the second one too

So much fun, I've made a videoclip about the items â–º My Bass Guitar â—„

Don't feel too bad about not getting the BB 3000. It's fretless!

Yeah, I've been told that playing fretless bass is much harder anyway.
I wish the Red Metalic color was more intense, but otherwise I'm completely happy with my new bass guitar.
