I wonder what a car does in a 100k run.
never always full throttle never always idling.
say 280cfm full throttle only uses 25% toes on the average throttle...
70cfm, starting in 1987.
1.27 million miles later...2010. becuase its a 3 main bearing subaru, it is original, and 100 pounds heavier after rust fixes..
a mile a minute.
its whole life would have used
88,900,000 cubic feet..
the sr71 can use this in less than 15 minutes (7 minutes, two engine).
versus a little subaru which took 23 years..1.27 million miles....
a grotesque thought to ponder. it is not all that bad, I could admit. I worked around jets. (tf33)
the concept of jet is cram air/compress ignite and throw itout with expansion. Actual air getting bothered by the burn isnot 12million CFM for the sr71,it is much less. the thought of that much air moving for a man made machine is amazing however. Not all pollutant. not as bad as it sounds..(for you tree huggers ou there) . I am a nerdy ecomodder...with a little subaru.
