I sincerely apologize if anybody finds this in bad taste or offensive. Usually I shy away from initiating a thread regarding a contentious issue, but I thought that this brief was very good.
An amicus brief is a paper submitted to the Court arguing a certain point. Of course, those writing the paper are trying to argue their opinion, but if done correctly amicus briefs are very fair. The attached is one such brief. It is, by my estimations, a fair account of the legality of the US health care bill. If you want, you can read it carefully. It cleanly lays out the argument (based on facts, not opinions) that the health care bill is, in fact, constitutional.
