does this ddr3 can be combined with this on and how

Hello,

I just purchased a 12gb(3x4gb) kit and I want to know if it can be combined/mixed with the 3x1gb I already had.

if so in what order do I place them is slot

my mobo is p6t deluxe v2 and here are the merorys.

ps please note timing are different , how would that impact on comput?

I'd leave the old ones out because they would add so little and since memory controllers tend to be at their happiest with only half of the slots filled. If you want to give it a try anyway, consult the manual on positioning and other eventual motherboard specific advice.

Any reason you need more than 12Gb RAM? It's hardly required for most applications. You'll also add perhaps 5W to your power consumption by keeping the old sticks in there regardless of them being used or not.

so il just use 12 out of 15 for vm use
