My Internet & phone went from $74 to $96. I can't believe this crap. Options? I see Time Warner actually has a monthly rental fee for the modem, but you can buy your own modem. I'm not home much, I may go with the public library & Starbucks options for a while.

Greedy a$$holes.

Meanwhile in Finland:

Speedtest result to a server in the same city: 125.29 Mbps down, 10.82 Mbps up, 19ms ping (cable to equipment room, fiber from there)

Our block of flats has roughly 9eur/month/flat mandatory fee for 10Mbps internet and cable tv, then on top of that I pay 35eur/month for my speed upgrade. Adding both together and converting to US$ gives $60.5

My mobile phone speedtest result is 18.24Mbps down, 4.07Mbps up, 38ms ping (full speed 3G) for 14eur/month. On top of that, 0.045eur/minute for calls I initiate, and 0.045eur/sms sent. Receiving calls and sms is free. So converted to US$ it is $19.26/month $0.062/min $0.062/sms

Neither the cable nor the mobile connection have any data caps.

No landline phone here, everyone had them 20 years ago but as cellphones became more common, they became obsolete for most people.

Cheap or expensive?
