Doas anyone have any experience mounting the
Zalman ZM80C-HP with a differenct fan than the optional
Zalman ZM-OP1. I agree that the ZM-OP1 definately looks cool, but I am a little skeptical as to how effectively it cools the heatsink. I was wondering if a 80mm Panaflo might be a better idea. I was also wondering if it is possible to mount a different fan dirrectly onto the heatsink, or if it would require something like
this.

That fan will definetly be enough to cool your card. But I didn't want to buy and additional fan since I had some lying around. I attaced a L1A at 5V to mine. There is some channels on the side of the sink so I used some long bolts and just mounted with two bolts in that channel. Works very nicely.

I don't use any kind of fan on my 9700 Pro. No problems so far, even when I tinkered a little with overclocking for a while.

Is there anyone out there that has the optional Zalman fan with this heatsink? Just wondering how loud it is. I should have included that with my first post.

It is quiet at 5v probably won't be noticeable in you set-up, depending on what you are running.
