VGA Silencer Fan Connector

Post by KewlJedi » Sat Mar 27, 2004 9:20 pm

Well this is a dumb question, but I don't have much experience with video cards. If I buy a VGA Silencer can I take the power connector for the fan and plug it into my fan speed controller (into the 12V 3 pin connectors). I just want to do this so I can control the speed of the VGA fan from the front of my case, rather than having an inconvenient switch on the back. If this does not work, does anyone have any tips on how to make it possible? Thanks.

Yup. I have mine plugged into my Zalman MFC. Works fine.

Will these things work with a Zalman Fan Mate?

You will have to do some changes like adapting a 3 pin connector to plug into your fan controller, and adding an extension of wire for it to reach the controller.
