Actually..... with all due respect... you may want to point out to R&D that those may not be the best low noise choice for 'cooling' fans... :?

SPCR's Recommended Fans Page

Maybe General Electric should send a couple over for review?.....

Thanks for the reply!

After looking more closely at my motherboard options, it looks like there may not quite be room for two Condor-cooled video cards. Crossfire is important to me mostly in that, if asymmetric Crossfire takes off, I'll want to use whatever card I get now for physics when I upgrade to a DX10 card...Maybe you'll have external heatsinks by then. :D It looks like for now I should probably get a single X1900XT and put it in the bottom of two PCIe slots with a normal Condor, which I think will provide enough room for a tall CPU heatsink. The Condor won't be right next to the case exhaust fans, but it'll be fairly close and I could also have an intake fan blowing right on the video card.

On the review it says it isn't suitable for 7950 GX2, okay 1 would not fit for both boards, but wouldn't it fit one between the 2 boards facing the cooler up, and another condor fitted on the second bord facing down? :P

or is the mount to thick to fit between the 2 boards ?

does anybody know of quiter coolers for 7950 GX2 cards? ( i just had the luck of buying one very cheap  but it makes a lot of nois  )

I'm a fan of the VF900...can you fit two of them on? Thermalright has a few very good vga coolers -- perhaps you could put one on one way, and on on the other?

I bet it has something to do with them discontinuing their flagship product. I guess they just let their website die quietly as well.

wow.. looking @ the pictures, it is really thin, so it could fit between the 2 cards probably 8)

Can I install HR-03 on my 7950GX2?

Answer: 7950GX2 is not listed in the HR-03 compatibility list mainly due to insufficient cooling solution to the HSI chip. Technically, HR-03 can be installed on those two cards. Although one of the HR-03’s would have to be installed upright with heatpipes looped to the top of the VGA card while the other one is installed upside down, the HR-03 being entirely on top of the GPU. There is no current solution from Thermalright for cooling those HSI chips. However, you can purchase any after market RAM sinks that are big enough to cover the surface area.

which one is meant with the HSI chip ?

high-speed interconnect chip - bridges AGP to PCI-E and visa versa.

A good passive heatsink should do you proud, esp. if it gets a little air.
