After market cooler for 8800 series?

They make noise, too.

After market cooler for 8800 series?

Post by spookmineer » Thu Dec 21, 2006 4:53 pm

I tried to find one, but haven't found any.
They're still developing new heatsinks or adjusting current ones? The VF900 should be nice or an Arctic cooling.

Does anyone know if there already are after market items, or maybe if some are in the making?

I'm not planning on buying an 8800 any time soon, it's just out of interest: here we have the fastest card and there are no third party coolers for it?

I'd be interested to know how an HR-03 (with fan) would cope with an 8800GTS. Eg. mount the HR-03 in its downward facing orientation, put a 120mm fan on the base of the case blowing backwards, and leave all the PCI slots open. The card itself and the side of the case could act almost like their own duct. A GTX would probably be too much, but I wonder if it would be doable with a GTS.

A (quiet) fanned HR-03 can easily cool an X1950 XTX, so the 8800 GTS should be even easier.

From another thread in this same forum section:

Thermaltake 8800 cooler to come soon.
As said in another thread, looks a lot like Arctic Cooling.
