Tried to find one of these but couldn't locate it in time, so I went with a HD4850 instead.

The Asus is supposed to disable the fan completely in idle, and only ramp up under 3D load. That's ideal, imo.

still not available in the US.

would like to see some legit reviews on the power-save functions.

not to mention it's already sort of old. this tech needs to be applied on the state-of-the-art cards as well, not just "last gen" parts.

hhmm...just got my EN9600GT.

This thing is by no means silent. I should have known better than to read those Newegg reviews. :D

The card does stay cool though. I've since removed the junk TIM, repalced with AS5 and addd 4 BGA sinks.

Oh....and if that Matrix version relies on any type of Asus softwareto function....you may as well forget about it. SmartDoctor and GameOSD.....are just plain horrible. They wouldn't even uninstall properly - causing my X-Fi to dissapear and took the nVidia drivers to hell.

AnandTech just posted an article about this card with a few more details. It seems like an ideal silent PC candidate for modest gaming at medium resolutions.
