Is your 9600GT Revision A1 - and what does this mean?

They make noise, too.

Is your 9600GT Revision A1 - and what does this mean?

Post by Max Dread » Tue Sep 30, 2008 12:46 pm

Hi

Ive got a new 9600GT - well it was open box actually so I'm not sure how old it is. Anyhow, I noticed today in GPU-Z that it is Revision A1...and I got to wondering if there are later revisions?

If anyone who has a 9600GT (especially a new one) can check what revision there's is, I would really appreciate it. Likewise, if anyone could comment whether this is significant and/or important or not that would be very helpful.

All the best and many thanks

Max

i bought mine secondhand in april, it was originally bought in december.

mine also says revision A1, it's an ECS 9600GT. it is not the version sold with the Accelero S2, so i bought/put on an Accelero S1 Rev 2 cooler.

i think the later revisions may only have to do with the firmware it's sold with, but i could be wrong.

I bought mine new in April, and it's also an A1. I can't imagine that there's any significance, as there haven't been any publicized changes to the card since its release.

*checks box*

looked on my palit 1gb 9600gt sonic that I picked up a few weeks ago. couldn't find any revision number on it.

I think I read somewhere that nvidia didn't publicize the switch to the 65nm core on the 9600's?

Maybe nvidia started producing the smaller chips and cards already made were marked in some way?

I know it will tell you on the gpu die.

Hi Gopherbob

The small useful utility GPU-Z will tell you what Revision your card is, amongst many other things....

Cheers
