ASUS En8800GS Glaciator

Post by EvoFire » Wed Jan 14, 2009 11:47 pm

As I await a CPU heatsink bracket from a very generous(psiu) member here who's sending one to me at no charge, I'll do some research. I scored the above mentioned card and was wondering if the Glaciator is any good, and should I get some heatsinks for the memory as it doesn't have anything for it other than some stray airflow from the GPU heatsink.

Got an 8800gs myself, depends on your level of quiet. It isn't a screamer like the 7600 or some 8600gt series of cards but in my opinion, it was a bit too loud for my liking, it was idling at around 44 in my case which has almost no airflow, replaced it with an accelero s1 rev2 and got idle of 55 and with a 500rpm fan, went back down to around 40C.
