Dell G2410 -> any owners out there?

They make noise, too.

13W and still horribly dim.

I'm running at 15 brightness and 50 contrast at the moment - the auto dimming thing was getting a little psychotic. Also 13W.

@CA_Steve:
How is your new Dell G2410 display quality wise?
Have you encountered any negative things/problems?

Over all, I like it. It's not a high end display by any means and has a TN's 80% gamut. Still messing with the color balance to try and match to my other display (Samsung 225BW). Downside of this "white" LED backlight is that it's yellow pigment over a blue LED. So, some spectrum difference vs cold cathode.

That being said, no blur while gaming, text and images are sharp...and after a bit of time with it, I'm beginning to realize that it's color quality really does beat the heck out of my 225BW.

It was down to $239 at Dell when I looked earlier today :D

i'm looking at this to replace 2x 17" LCDs, HP f1703's.

I'm only buying one new monitor, to save desk space, currently the two 1703's are taking 34" diagonal space, and since my desk is small I need to save space.

It's an L shaped desk, Canon MP160 printer, the two LCDs, keyboad and mouse. I have my WD Mybook 400gb (older drive) between the LCDs on it's side, but I'm adding another external drive, and looking to get a better LCD, and more space at the same time.

1920x1080 preferred, but who knows. The price range of this panel is about right ~$250.

I just bought one thru the small business site for $239 to go with my new system. It came to $255 with tax and free shipping. This seems to change every few days recently.

I think you might be able to get another 20% off via Bing shopping... at $200, I'm tempted to get a 2nd monitor....change that to I did order a 2nd one.

I re-ran the Nvidia display optimization for my Samsung 225BW and the Dell G2410, looked at my desktop picture and then ran the "Legend of the Seeker" video from Hulu (seems to be a go-to 720p video for the AVS Forum guys).

A couple of things stood out:
- my 225BW couldn't get to the black level set point for brightness with out completely dimming the display to unusable levels.
- At a decent brightness level setting and with a black display, the 225BW is obviously grey vs the G2410 being pretty darn black.
- The Samsung is saturating at white levels, the Dell isn't.
- The Dell has better color balance, fonts are crisper.

Ok, I'm comparing a 3 yr old monitor to a new one. So, this isn't unexpected. But the quality difference was big enough to make me want two of the g2410's instead of mixing monitors side by side.
