 Post subject: Sapphire 6950 fan runs constantly at full speed

G'day guys,

Chasing some advice: I built a machine which includes a Sapphire 6950 DiRT3 edition card, which runs it's fans at full speed at all times. From power on to shutdown, full speed. Afterburner, Rivatuner, TriXX can all happily change and set clocks, but nothing can set the fans to anything other than 100%.

Any ideas?

Get an aftermarket video cooler and use a Sunbeam Rheostat to control the speed of its fans.

Have you enabled fan control inside Afterburner? comes as auto by default.

Speedfan may be worth a try. If it finds the controller chip on your graphics card, remember to change the default fan behavior to manual in the advanced section.
