RMA a MSI GTX 560 Twin Frozr II for a loud fan

Post by Coldsnap » Fri Aug 19, 2011 7:45 am

My MSi GTX 569 Twin Frozr II has had one fan that is particularly loud, has a tick in it would be my best description. I've dealt with it for the past month but I'm thinking of RMAing it. Has anyone done this? It seems like a small problem to RMA but it sorta ruins my silent built attempt... will I have to return my graphics card to them and wait for them to fix it and return it? So I wont be able to use my computer for 3-4 weeks?

I would try a gentle tap first, wriggle it a bit, but all very gently. Then RMA if it isnt fixed.

Hi, I would say if one fan clearly isn't as it should be and the card is new (ish) then it's perfectly reasonable to RMA it. Especially as, presumably, bought as a low noise solution.
I would suggest contacting the retailer of the card, they may be able to give you an advance replacement, ie send you a new one then you send to old one back, usually need credit card details to do this.

Regards, Seb
