Hi all,
I finally need a graphics card for my recent PC office computer build. I will not need the card to play games but for (radar) image analysis (e.g. using ENVI, Matlab, ArcGIS in case anyone knows these) and illustrator/photoshop work. The chip build in graphics card acts weirdly in google earth already so I need it even for basic tasks.
My build is here

The computer is not very quiet for my taste (I put the CPU fan to the lowest setting and it is still relatively loud) but for the ambient noise that is in the office anyway it works. My graphics card does thus not have to be dead silent but it should for basic tasks not be too loud. The budget is around $200 (it can be a little higher if necessary) and I would be ok with trying to install an aftermarket heatsink if that helps. I was hoping one could find a GPU with fan that is not too loud unless one cranks it up to the max. I didn't really find a page that compared noise level. So far I looked at:

Soe reviews said they were quite quiet...
Thanks very much!!
Relatively quiet GPU in $200 price range

I would definately crank up the budget to get a 560TI 448, which is basically a 570GTX. Best value card on the market now. Period.
This looks like a very nice deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814500231
Noisewise it seems very capable: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zota ... es/26.html

Skip the i7-2600 for the i72600K.
Take a look at the Asus GTX560 Direct CUII. Asus' cooler is quieter than the standard one.
Get a Scythe S-Flex PWM Fan for the CPU cooler, if you want to stick with it. The Fan that comes with the 212 is not good.
You could get a Scythe Mugen 3 or a Thermalright HR-02 Macho instead.
