1070 for Cougar QBX Case

Post by nytrip » Thu Aug 24, 2017 3:58 pm

Hi,

I am building a system in a QBX case. Fairly standard with Ryzen 1600 and no over clocking. I want to use a 1070 - and would prioritise low noise when not high loading the GPU. I'm wondering what best 1070 I should buy. I've seen that the MSI Gaminx X 1070 is supposed to be quiet, but have also read that it is too TALL to fit in the QBX case.

Can anyone advise a 1070 that is quiet (preferably good value for money) and that will fit in the QBX?

Many thanks!

Welcome to SPCR! That is a tight case, and I think the PSU choice will affect the air flow inside the case. The orientation of the video card is also a major factor of how cool and quiet the system will be.

The specs say the QBX is just over 7" wide, so that does seem to limit the height of the video card. Do you know what the dimension of the space between the motherboard and the side panel?
