Hi all,

I am planning to buy a 9600 Pro card, and I wonder if a case with 120mm rear and front fans has a sufficient airflow to cool the heatpipe (Sapphire stock card, or any other 9600 Pro card with a Zalman) ? Or do I need to have a fan on the side panel of my case, just near to the graphic card ?

Thanks for your answers.

should be sufficient. If you buy a non-passive 9600pro and then install the zalman heatpipe then for sure you shouldn't need a fan blowing on it with your setup. The 9600pro releases a lot less heat then the 9700/9800, and those run fine with the zalman heatpipe.

Thanks for the answer. I think I will go with a generic Ati 9600 Pro with a Zalman ZM-80. Does anybody knows if it fits on a P4P800 or P4C800 motherboard ? I have seen that the AGP port is really close to the chipset's heatpipe on these motherboards.

Supposidly the asus p4p boards had trouble with zm-80's but they flipped the northbridge heatsink to perpendicular instead of caddy cornered and now it fits, but you should make sure your getting the one with the 90degree heatsink.

Ok, I'll take care of that before buying the motherboard.
