Radeon 9000 Pro With A ZM50-HP?

Post by thebiggreenone » Fri Sep 05, 2003 10:22 am

Will the Zalman ZM50-HP be enough to cool the 9000 Pro?

I seem to remember seeing people here that simply unpluged the fan on the HSF on this card and it worked just fine, but looking at the specs for the ZM50 it says it does not work on the 8500 and higher.

The fan on my 9000 Pro is now the loudest part of my system, I'm just looking to be rid of it!

I once e-mailed Zalman about my non-pro R9000, and they said it would be ok to use ZM50-HP with my card. I don't know the difference between the pro and the non-pro version though.

The Pro has a higher clockspeed, 275/275 vs. 250/200 (core/RAM).

25mhz can't make that much more heat, right?

So I did it just now, it is all working fine, I'll make a thread about it.
